Happy Tuesday, everyone!
We sincerely hope you and your family had a safe, wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
As we move into this last, short week of May, it sure seems like things are changing a lot! We are seeing more businesses re-open, more people out and about, and more people returning to a "new normal." While we know there is still a lot of uncertainty, there is also a lot of hope for the future. We have been speaking with a number of local businesses and organizations in our community, and have created a framework and course to help businesses rebuild after this pandemic. Our four week Restaurant Recovery Course is set to start SOON, so if you think you may be able to benefit, please check out some more information, as well as how to apply here! (P.S. - You don't have to be in Chattanooga for this! So click away!!!)
Here are the upcoming seminars we found for the week that you might find helpful!

James Beard Foundation Industry Webinars:
Tuesday, May 26: Inspiring Incubators–Lessons From Community Frontlines    Even before COVID-19, incubators and feeding kitchens had long been entrenched in distressed communities. Join us as the James Beard Foundations director of culinary community initiatives Colleen Vincent convenes a group of frontline advocates to discuss the lessons, solutions, and opportunities for the present and post-pandemic world. Register here. Thursday, May 28: The Community Meals Fund—Valuing Restaurant/Nonprofit Partnerships During COVID-19
A growing number of restaurants across the country are working with non-profit organizations to help those in need the way many chefs know best – through food. The Community Meals Fund, introduced by Congresswoman Velázquez (D-NY), would provide resources for public-private partnerships to supply needed meals to children and other vulnerable populations. We’ll be joined by Monica Garay from Rep. Velázquez’s office, Jenny Dirksen of Share Our Strength, and chef Alex Raij for a conversation of the bill, food programs, and why supporting these partnerships is vital during the pandemic.
