Yelp, Google, and Food Delivery - How They Can Help!

Updated: Nov 11, 2020

We know there have been a lot (and we mean a LOT) of articles, media blasts, emails, and various other forms of information coming at you lately. We've been closely monitoring them all to make it easier for small businesses to truly understand what is relevant and valuable to YOUR business right now - specifically our camrades in food and beverage.

While you may have seen some of them, we wanted to highlight a few big companies that are offering assistance or advertising to help as you pivot your way through this pandemic.

YELP -

Hard to believe this was posted just shy of a month ago! They have really been on their game! "On March 20, we announced $25 million in relief, primarily focused on supporting independent, local restaurant and nightlife businesses, in the form of waived advertising fees and free advertising, products, and services during this period."

You can also stay up to date on their relief efforts by visiting their blog.

FOOD DELIVERY BUSINESSES:

DINNER DELIVERED - While this might be a bit more localized to our direct community, Dinner Delivered is offering contact-free deliveries as well as FREE deliveries using the coupon code: Local! This makes it easy to support your favorite restaurants!

UBEREATS - Aside from this massive company offering free transportation to healthcare workers and bringing them free food, as well as using their freight companies to deliver necessary goods at zero profit, UberEats has waived the Delivery Fee for the more than 100,000 independent restaurants across US and Canada. To take things a step further, "Uber Eats is introducing a new feature allowing customers across the U.S. to show their support for local restaurants directly in the app. You will be able to give directly to your favorite restaurants at checkout when ordering through the Uber Eats app. Restaurants will receive 100% of these contributions.*" They are also a "founding partner of the National Restaurant Association’s Restaurant Employee Relief Fund (RERF), which is supporting U.S. restaurant workers and delivery people financially impacted by the COVID-19 crisis." They announced that they "will match every restaurant contribution our users make, until we bring our total donation up to $5 million for the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund, which will provide eligible restaurant industry workers with a one-time $500 grant." Oh! And we forgot to mention their contact-free delivery services as well.

DOORDASH - From supplying their dashers with personal protective equipment, to giving customers the comfort of relying on contact-free delivery, to their extraordinary measures to help the hospitality industry, these folks are giving us the warm and fuzzies! When it comes to supporting local businesses, they are currently offering commission relief and marketing support for new and existing DoorDash partner restaurants, extending DashPass benefits to our community (this means adding restaurants!), and offering priority access to restaurant workers who want to become Dashers. GOOGLE - If you've ever purchased Google Ads for your company, you're in luck. Google announced "$340 million in Google Ads credits available to all SMBs with active accounts over the past year. Credit notifications will appear in their Google Ads accounts and can be used at any point until the end of 2020 across our advertising platforms. We hope it will help to alleviate some of the cost of staying in touch with their customers."

Take advantage of these if you think it will help! We're keeping our ears to the ground on more companies and resources - as well as how you can take advantage of them during this time!
